چکیده

EUROSIM Congresses are the most important modelling and simulation events in Europe. For EUROSIM2013, we are soliciting original submissions describing novel research and developments in the following (and related) areas of interest: Continuous, discrete (event) and hybrid modelling, simulation, identification and optimization approaches. Two basic contribution motivations are expected: M&S Methods and Technologies and M&S Applications. Contributions from both technical and non-technical areas are welcome. The EUROSIM 2013 Congress will include invited talks, parallel, special and the poster sessions. The Congress topics of interest include, but are not limited to: The Congress will be held in the historic and magnificent City Hall in the heart of Cardiff, the capital city of Wales. The Gala Dinner will be held in the main hall of the National Museum of Wales. Social activities include visits to Cardiff Castle and Caerphilly Castle. The SNE special issues on Modelling in / for Education – Modelling , Simulation and E-Learning looks on modelling and education from different views. Modelling and simulation was very early used in education in technical applications –training simulators learned engineers how to operate complex technical systems. On the other side, education in modelling and simulation is necessary in order to qualify experts in modelling and simulation: here modelling and simulation is as well goal of education as well as tool for education. In the last three decades a lot of electronically supported tools for training have been released, and in principle computer games belong to these tools. These tools started the era of e-learning, where differences between modelling in education and education with models are vanishing. The perhaps biggest promoter for modelling and simulation in and for education is the internet. In the present WWW modelling and simulation of any kind plays active and passive roles – from computer games for mining via tutorials for mathematic calculus to engineering design – and for the coming new web these roles will strongly increase. This SNE special issue presents eleven contributions which discuss some of the fore-mentioned aspects of modelling, simulation and education. The contributions are modifications, extensions or revised versions of contributions presented at special sessions on modelling, and the discussions on this topic will be continued at forthcoming events. Nowadays, for modelling and simulation in / for education an electronic environment, or at least an electronic support seems to be a must, but good 'analytical' approaches for teaching and learning purposes may …
